Everyone Starts Somewhere

For me “somewhere” was Montrose Colorado. The small rural town didn’t have a whole lot to do, so the majority of my childhood was spent in a dance studio. I fell in love the community and demand for excellence that dancing provided, and soon found myself dedicating every second of free time I had to rehearsing.

It began in small local studios until eventually I expressed a serious passion for Classical Ballet. From there I began homeschooling and completed a season with the Colorado Ballet Academy and then continued my training with a world renowned Ballet Mistress in Telluride, CO. I slowly began to understand the very real sacrifices that came along with a professional career in ballet. I developed a severe eating disorder and spent my high school years fighting my way out of it, eventually coming to the conclusion that the life I’d always envisioned for myself may not be compatible with a performing arts profession. This conclusion coincided conveniently with a series of injuries and surgeries that ended my hopes of dancing professionally.

Following high school I attended Seattle University. Outside of academic work I earned my AFAA Group Fitness Certification, my ACE Personal Training Certification, and my Peak Pilates Mat Certification. I spent my time teaching group fitness classes, training, and managing the fitness program at the University gym. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology, and decided all I wanted to do was train.

Following graduation I was hired out of my internship to a private training studio and continued my education, earning my PPSC and becoming a certified Nutrition Coach. After a year of training as an employee, I competed in my first NPC show with more success than I could’ve hoped for. The experience of coaching myself through that process not only taught me more than I ever expected, it gave me the confidence to do what I’d wanted to do since graduating college.

I started my own business in the Spring of 2021 and I haven’t looked back.
